Giving Hope After Hurricane Katrina

Richard Astacio joined a group of 20 who went down to Louisiana after the levies failed during the destructive Hurricane Katrina. The group helped rebuild the Pastor's house. Richard describes the experience in his own words: "When we arrived on the site, it was just a shell. There was so much chaos, I really did not think this was ever going to happen in the few days we were there. But after four long days and nights, we had roughed out all of the plumbing, and left them with a working bathroom and a tiled laundry room. We hung the water heater outside. The roof did not have shingles, however it was protected with tar paper and all of the windows and exterior doors were installed. When the Pastor and his family arrived that afternoon and witnessed the progress, their reaction was worth all of the hard work and sacrifices. They were so appreciative and thankful. It amazed me how joyful they were for having a working bathroom, laundry room, and windows on their house. We sometimes takes these items for granted. At that moment, I thanked God for all of the blessings he has given myself and my family."

Pumping Station Installed in Kenya

Astacio Plumbing & Heating dontated a portion of the proceeds from a major project to Harvest Time Church. The funds were used to install a pumping station for the Masai people (in Kenya) at a cistern which only had one, gravity-fed tap. In addition, a water main was run over to Masai land where it provides water to several tribes. The pump allows future projects to run water to other areas where it is desperately needed.
